<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide an ion beam with high directivity and high energy using a laser drive type acceleration mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A laser beam 20 is emitted from a laser light source and is condensed in cluster gas 30. A nozzle 40 is installed in a vacuum, and can eject gas into the vacuum from its tip. The gas is a mixed gas of helium and carbon dioxide, and becomes the cluster gas 30 due to a sharp temperature decline caused by the adiabatic expansion when the gas is ejected into the vacuum. In the cluster gas 30, CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>clusters 32 formed after a number of CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>molecules are agglomerated and nanoparticulated are dispersed in the gas including He atoms 31. Preferably, a condensation point is set to be at the back of the inside of the cluster gas 30.
