<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitching device controlling a pitching course of a ball with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: This pitching device 1 pitching a ball 2 to a predetermined area distant by a predetermined distance includes: a ball grasp means 30 grasping the ball 2; a predetermined-length pitching arm 32 having one end with the ball grasp means 30 installed thereon, having the other end installed to an arm support means 34 rotatably around an arm rotational axis 31, and rotating around the arm rotational axis 31; a rotation drive adjustment means 33 rotating the pitching arm 32 around the arm rotational axis 31, and adjusting a rotation angular velocity; and a ball release means 35 releasing the ball 2 from the ball grasp means 30 when the pitching arm 32 reaches a position where a predetermined angle θ is formed with a horizontal diameter 62 of a rotation plane 60 of the pitching arm 32.
