<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively put the collection unit of an MRI system to practical use. <P>SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging apparatus 100 includes a receiving unit 8, a plurality of collection units 10 and a distribution substrate 12. The receiving unit 8 forms echo signal data from the echo signal output from a receiving coil 6 and a plurality of the collection units 10 collect the echo signal data.
