<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a data electrode drive circuit of a plasma display device. <P>SOLUTION: A data electrode drive circuit comprises a recovery capacitor charged to an intermediate voltage; and output buffers each including a high-voltage side switch, a low-voltage side switch and a recovery switch. Among these output buffers, an output buffer, which causes transition of an output voltage from a low-voltage side voltage to a high-voltage side voltage, turns on the recovery switch in a first transition period provided in each writing period, so as to cause transition from the low-voltage side voltage to the intermediate voltage, and then, turns off the recovery switch and turns on the high-voltage side switch, so as to cause transition of the output voltage from the intermediate voltage to the high-voltage side voltage. On the other hand, an output buffer, which causes transition of the output voltage from the high-voltage side voltage to the low-voltage side voltage, turns on the recovery switch in a second transition period provided in each writing period and not overlapping the first transition period in time, so as to cause transition of the output voltage from the high-voltage side voltage to the intermediate voltage, and then, turns off the recovery switch and turns on the low-voltage side switch, so as to cause transition from the intermediate voltage to the low-voltage side voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
