<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely clean, with a simple constitution, a wiper member to which an ink after cleaning a nozzle surface of a liquid droplet ejection head is adhered. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a wiper cleaning member 420 which cleans a wiper member cleaning tool 400 for cleaning the wiper member 83 for wiping the nozzle surface of a recording head 34 by coming into contact with the wiper member 83 holding a liquid for cleaning, and a holding member 410 constituted to be a different body from an apparatus body 1 and insertable from outside of the image forming apparatus body while the wiper cleaning member 420 is attached to a front end part.
