The present invention relates to a method and a system for processing a voice message. The method comprises: a terminal of a calling party recording a voice message in a voice mailbox server of a called party in a real-time recording manner; the voice mailbox server of the called party generating voice data according to the voice message and background music; a terminal of the called party obtaining the voice data from the voice mailbox server of the called party and playing the obtained voice data. The method and the system of the present invention may provide a voice message service with good user experience.
