<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type display device in which brightness of a front direction may be improved while suppressing degradation of contrast and an electronic apparatus including the same. <P>SOLUTION: An optical layer laminate 20 is provided on a liquid crystal panel 10. The optical layer laminate 20 includes a plurality of light scattering layers 21 and 23 scattering light forward relatively largely and backward relatively small. The light scattering layer 21 is disposed in a region between an upper substrate 17 and a retardation layer 22, and the light scattering layer 23 is disposed in a region between two optical layers close to each other (that is, the retardation layer 22 and a polarization layer 24).
