<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing technique that obtains high authentication precision in each of periods of individual authentication by selecting a face having suitable conditions out of faces detected from a plurality of images captured in a period of one cycle of individual authentication. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device includes face detection means of periodically performing face detection processing for detecting a face area of a person from an image, authentication means of periodically performing individual authentication processing on the face area detected by the face detection means, and calculation means of calculating a criterion for selecting a face area as an object of the individual authentication processing from the face area detected by the face detection means. The authentication means is configured to perform the individual authentication processing in a period longer than that of the face detection processing by the face detection means, and determines as an object of the individual authentication processing a face area which satisfies the criterion calculated by the calculation means among face areas of the plurality of images when the face detection means detects the face areas from the plurality of images during a period of one cycle of the individual authentication processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
