<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise suppression device, noise suppression method, and portable terminal having a simple configuration capable of implementing noise reduction suitable for noise characteristics in aerial/underwater environment against noises generated by continuous AF mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A noise suppression device, noise suppression method, and portable terminal, utilize an antenna reception state evaluation value of a mobile phone to determine whether it is in aerial or underwater. If it is determined to be in aerial, the device performs noise reduction process against voice data with a noise reduction parameter suitable for aerial noise characteristics.
