The present invention relates to the technical field of communications and provides a method and device for managing a multi-mode base station. The method and device reduce the amount of human labor required for managing a multi-mode base station. The method comprises: invoking a power-on operation command or a power-off operation command for a target standard single board in accordance with the type of operation in a control command, the control command containing both the target standard single board information required to execute the power-on operation or the power-off operation and the type of operation the corresponding target standard single board needs to execute; and transmitting to the target standard single board a power-on operation command or a power-off operation command. The present invention primarily applies to the management of multi-mode base stations.
