The present invention relates to a method for producing a C3 chlorinated hydrocarbon, the method being characterized in comprising a conversion step of reacting the chloropropane represented by Formula (1) with chlorine in the presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride, thereby converting the chloropropane to the chloropropane represented by Formula (2). (1) CCl3-CCl(2-m)Hm-CCl(3-n)Hn (In the formula, m is 1 or 2, and n is an integer 0 to 3) (2) CCl3-CCl(3-m)H(m-1)-CCl(3-n)Hn (In the formula, m and n are each the same integers as in Formula (1)).
