The storage (1) has a container unit (4) for receiving a heat transfer medium, where the container unit is surrounded by an insulation (8). An energy supply and removal unit (7) enables supply and removal of energy and is designed as a heat exchanger tube. The container unit is modularly formed from a set of individual containers (5), which are surrounded by common heat-insulation, where the containers are made of plastic and exhibits cuboid shape. The container unit is prismatic and comprises a surface in a horizontal cross section. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a storage.
