<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio channel extension device which can extend the number of channels of an audio signal by simple processing in quick response. <P>SOLUTION: The audio channel extension device comprises a frequency band division unit which divides the input audio signals of right channel and left channel, respectively, into a plurality of frequency bands, a correlation detection unit which detects the level difference or the level ratio of the audio signals of right channel and left channel in each frequency band as a correlation value, and a center channel extension unit which creates the signal of center channel and new signals of right and left channels by distributing the audio signals of right and left channels at a ratio based on the correlation value of each frequency band for each frequency band. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
