<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a drive shaft without changing layout of a vehicle and characteristics of the vehicle under operating conditions wherein there is some probability of damages to a drive shaft. <P>SOLUTION: This method for protecting a drive shaft includes: a step to determine whether a present shift stage is a reverse shift stage or not; a step to determine, when the present shift stage is the reverse shift stage, whether or not a present steering angle is in full steering conditions or not; a step to determine, when the steering angle is in full steering conditions, whether or not stall generating conditions of a transmission are satisfied; and a step to control, when the stall generating conditions of the transmission are satisfied, the torque to be applied to the drive shaft so as to be less than the limit torque by reducing the output torque of an engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
