<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump that can reduce an operation sound. <P>SOLUTION: A pump body 11 has a pressurizing chamber 121 to which fuel is pressurized by the reciprocal movement of a plunger 13, and a damper chamber 201 which reduces the pressure pulsation of fuel discharged from the pressurizing chamber 121. In a cover 50 for blocking the damper chamber 201 from outside air, the thickness of the center 52 is thicker than the thickness of a periphery 53. By adjusting the thickness of the center 52, a mass can positively be enlarged without increasing a spring constant of the cover 50. By this arrangement, the vibration acceleration of the cover 50 can be reduced. Accordingly, an emission sound issued from the cover 50 can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
