<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light extraction efficiency in a light emitting device. <P>SOLUTION: There is disclosed a light emitting device 10 which has a light emitting element 4 including a transparent substrate 4d and a luminous layer 4b. In the light emitting device 10, the transparent substrate 4d and a side face 4e of the luminous layer 4b are covered with a light extraction layer 6 allowing light emitted from the side face 4e of the luminous layer 4b and a side face 4g of the transparent substrate 4d to be output from a top face 6a, and a refractive index of the light extraction layer 6 is lower than that of the luminous layer 4b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
