<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation tester for a smoke sensor that stably generates test smoke although having its whole structure simplified to be lightweight and low-cost, and further reduce running costs. <P>SOLUTION: The operation tester for the smoke sensor includes a hood which covers the circumferential space of the smoke sensor, a smoking device 2 which generates the test smoke, a housing which houses the smoking device 2, and a column which supports the housing. The smoking device 2 comprises a smoking container 25 which houses paraffin P, a heater 26 and a suction wick 27 housed in the smoking container 25, a power source, etc. The suction wick 27 includes a smoking part 41 which is made of a liquid absorbing material formed by braiding thin metal wires and adjoins the heater 26, and a suction part 42 which comes into contact with the paraffin P. Heat of the heater 26 is conducted through the smoking part 41 and suction part 42 to fuse the paraffin P, and liquid paraffin P which is sucked up through capillarity of the suction part 42 and smoking part 41 is heated by the heater 26 to generate the test smoke. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
