PURPOSE: A coating apparatus and a coating method using the same are provided to keep the uniform thickness of a coating with respect to the width direction and the longitudinal direction of the apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A coating apparatus(30) includes a first body part(30a), a second body part(30b), a coating solution inlet(31), a coating solution outlet(32), and a gap adjusting part(80). The second body part is installed to be spaced apart from the first body part. The coating solution inlet is formed at one region of the second body part and is expanded to a coating solution transferring path which penetrates the gap. The coating solution outlet discharges a coating solution from the coating inlet to one side of the gap between the first body part and the second body part. A plurality of gap adjusting parts is arranged at the width direction of a base which is coated to the first body part. The gap adjusting part adjusts the size of the coating solution outlet. A recessed part(33) is formed along the width direction of the base.
