摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower structure of a vehicle body capable of further increasing impact energy absorbing performance in a joining part between a pillar and a rocker. <P>SOLUTION: A center pillar 2 and a rocker 3 are joined by arc welding 5. A protrusion 11 is formed at the joining part in the center pillar 2 with the rocker 3. A recess 12 is formed at the joining part in a side surface of the rocker 3 with the center pillar 2. When a side loaded is input to the center pillar 2, the protrusion 11 is stretched. The stretched protrusion 11 absorbs the load. Further, the protrusion 11 formed at the center pillar 2 is inserted into the recess 12 formed in the rocker 3, so that the load acting on the arc welding 5 is reduced, and thereby the welding length of the arc welding part 5 may be shortened. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
