A flux coated manual arc welding electrode deposits an alloy of the following composition: .C.0.05- 0.4% .Ni.35.0 -65.0% .Cr.10.0 -25.0% .Mo.4.0 - 8.0% .W.0.5 - 3.0% .Mn.0 - 8.0% .Nb.0.5 - 3.0% .Co.0 - 3.0% .V.0 - 3.0% .Si.0 - 1.0% .Fe.10.0 -45.0% Fluxes disclosed comprise: Deoxidizers and desulphurizers containing: .Fe, Al, Ti, Mg, Mn.2-15% The metals referred to above may be present as alloys or in the elemental state.
