The method comprises: activating the application of the electronic device, the application automatically activates the camera unit of the electronic device and begins to capture images taken by the camera unit in real-time; Obtaining the images taken after each set time interval and determining if the electronic device is in an idle state according to the images obtained, if the camera unit is in an idle state then automatically turn off the camera unit; after the camera unit is turned off, the application starts to obtain an acceleration vector in a three-dimensional coordinate system from an accelerometer, and calculates the magnitude of the vector G; if G exceeds a preset threshold GT, then the application will automatically turn on the camera. The present invention allows users to eliminate cumbersome buttons-pressing operations when using certain camera-based applications, making turning the camera on and off more convenient and quickly, more comfortable to use, as well as saving time for the user.</p> |
