DIMMING CONTROL APPARATUS OF LIGHT AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling brightness of a lamp and a method thereof are provided to improve user convenience by automatically controlling brightness of a lamp to be suitable for a movement state around the lamp without separate manipulation. CONSTITUTION: A movement sensing unit(10) outputs a motion detection signal by sensing movement. A zero potential level detecting unit(50) outputs a zero potential level detecting signal by sensing a zero potential level of an AC driving signal. The zero potential level detecting unit comprises an electric wave rectifying unit(51), a photo coupler(52), and a voltage detecting unit(53). A control unit(20) outputs a brightness control signal gradually reducing the brightness of the lamp as much as a preset amount. A switching unit(60) controls the brightness of the lamp by controlling a supply period of an AC power source applied to the lamp.
