<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved shock absorber to be interposed between a vehicle body and a wheel and damping the road surface vibrations applied to the wheel. <P>SOLUTION: The body of this shock absorber is configured so that a wheel side tube 2 is slidably inserted into a vehicle body side tube 1 through an upper bearing 30 and a lower bearing 31, the upper bearing 30 being mounted on the periphery of the wheel side tube 2 and the lower bearing 31 being mounted at the bore of the vehicle body side tube 1, and that a lubrication gap 3 is formed between both the upper bearing 30 and lower bearing 31. Besides the absorber body, the configuration has a damper 4 accommodated in the absorber body, a reservoir chamber formed between the absorber body and the damper 4 and composed of an air chamber G and a working fluid chamber R, a rod guide 6 to partition the working fluid chamber R into an upper fluid chamber section R1 and a lower fluid chamber section R2, a flow passage L equipped with a check valve 6 to admit movement of the working fluid only in the direction from the upper fluid chamber section R1 to the lower fluid chamber section R2, and a communication passage 2a to put the lower fluid chamber section R2 in communication with the lubrication gap 3, wherein the cross section area of the lubrication gap 3 is designed smaller the cross section area X of a rod 42 constituting the damper 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
