<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a femoral component for an artificial hip joint, which reduces a force to be transmitted between a stem portion and a bone head portion. <P>SOLUTION: The femoral component X for an artificial hip joint includes: a bone head portion 10 with a spherical body having a fit-in hole formed thereon; a stem portion 20 with an engagement neck 22 to be fitted in and fixed to the fit-in hole and having a size and shape enough to be fitted into the fit-in hole, the neck being formed on the front end and the stem portion being embedded in the femur; and a buffer member 30 to be held by at least a part between the inner surface of the fit-in hole and the outer surface of the engagement neck which oppose to each other, and made of an adhesively elastic body or an elastic body which is more likely to be deformed than the bone head portion and the stem portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
