Method of data processing for managing the end-to-end quality of service in a Machine - to-Machine network comprising a set of devices (11, 12, 13) in a device domain (10) of the Machine-to-Machine network, a gateway (21) in a network domain (20) of the Machine-to-Machine network, and a service platform (23) in an application domain (30) of the Machine-to-Machine network, each device of the set of devices (11, 12, 13) being connected to the service platform (23) via the gateway (21), the method comprising steps of: at a device of the set of devices (11, 12, 13): a) collecting measure data and generating a message (M) to be transmitted from the device to the service platform (23), the message (M) containing the collected measure data and a quality of service field (40), the quality of service field (40) containing data related to a priority level of the message (M), the priority level of the message (M) being determined by applying to the collected measure data at least one predetermined rule, at the gateway (21): b) receiving the said message (M) and decoding the quality of service field data of the message (M), c) mapping the quality of service field data to at least one quality of service parameter related to a protocol used in the network domain (20) and modifying the said message (M) according to the mapping, and d) transmitting the modified message (M) from the gateway (21) to the service platform (23) depending on the mapping. |
