The present invention relates to an LTE network-based interception system which can support a lawful interception without changing an existing node or adding a node in an LTE network environment, and to an interception method thereof. The interception system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises an interception device and an LTE network server. The interception device transmits an interception request message to the LTE network server upon receipt of the interception request message for intercepting communications of an object terminal from an interception request organization. The LTE network server includes: a CSCF which collects interception-related information (IRI) of the object terminal from S-GW and PDNPDN in conjunction with PCRF upon receipt of the interception request message from the interception device; and a PAF which captures communication content (CC) of the object terminal from the S-GW and PDN-GW and mirrors the captured content.
