The method involves condensing the residual steam of the steam group (11) by a steam ejector (31) to high pressure, and generating negative pressure on the suction side of the steam ejector. The condensed residual steam is conducted in a heat consumer (33). The non-condensed gases are removed from the remaining condensed residual steam. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for treating residual steam in a steam and condensate system of a fiber web manufacturing machine.
