PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for transferring heavy weight objects are provided to improve safety and workability when heavy weight objects are entered and installed inside a plant, and to prevent personnel accidents due to rollover of the heavy weight objects or damage of the heavy weight objects during transferring. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus and a method for transferring heavy weight objects(100) comprises a main body(110), a sub body(120), supporting units(130), and lifting units(140). The main body is installed to be horizontally moved along a pair of rails parallelly installed on the ground. The sub body is inserted and installed in the upper part of the main body to be moved upward and downward. At least one of the supporting units is arranged in the upper part of the sub body at predetermined intervals. The lifting units are arranged in both left and right sides of the main body at a predetermined position. The lifting units vertically move the sub body. |
