PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spin torque oscillator in which reduction of current density and increase in strength of the in-plane high frequency magnetic field can be achieved simultaneously.

SOLUTION: The spin torque oscillator includes an oscillation layer comprising a magnetic body, a spin injection layer comprising a magnetic body and injecting spin into the oscillation layer, and a current constriction layer having an insulation part comprising an oxide or a nitride and a conductive part comprising a nonmagnetic metal penetrating the insulation part in the lamination direction.
