<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus of manufacturing an electrode plate capable of manufacturing an electrode plate in which a coating layer has a high peel strength, and to provide a method of manufacturing a battery. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus 1000 of manufacturing an electrode plate has an unwinding section 1100, a coating section 1200, a drying furnace 1300, and a winding section 1400. The coating section 1200 has a gravure coating apparatus 1210 and a die coating apparatus 1250. The gravure coating apparatus 1210 is disposed at a position in the upstream of a place where the die coating apparatus 1250 is disposed in the conveyance path of an electrode core material. The gravure coating apparatus 1210 has a gravure roll 1211. A large number of non-through holes 1211a are formed in the surface of the gravure roll 1211.
