<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out an operation to detect optimal frame timing corresponding to a wireless propagation path state. <P>SOLUTION: A wireless device 2 includes a detection circuit 50 which: calculates correlation profiles indicating a correlation between a received signal IQ and a replica of a synchronization pattern contained in a wireless frame of the received signal IQ; averages the correlation profiles; and detects frame synchronization timing based on the averaged correlation profile.
