<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of a duct type air conditioner, which is capable of securing sufficient strength, preventing blowing efficiency from be reduced and preventing generation of dew condensation in an electrical component room. <P>SOLUTION: A partition plate 106 for partitioning the inside of a casing into right and left sections, one edge of the partition plate 106 is fixed on the rear of a front plate 102, a heat exchanger side plate 141 for holding a heat exchanger 140 in a vertical posture is arranged on the piping outlet side of the heat exchanger 140, one end of the heat exchanger side plate 141 is fixed on a rear plate 103, the other end of the heat exchanger side plate 141 and the other end of the partition plate 106 are fixed with each other, and the heat exchanger side plate 141 and the partition plate 106 are erected in a line to form a partition wall β.
