MAIN SPINDLE OF MACHINE TOOL, AND THE MACHINE TOOL USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the main spindle of a machine tool hardly causing distortion or a chattering phenomenon even when a member constituting the main spindle such as a ram and a quill provided to the main spindle head of a working machine or a machine tool for cutting a workpiece elongates, and to provide a machine tool using the same.

SOLUTION: In the main spindle having a rotary shaft provided to the main spindle head and advancing and retreating in an elongating axial direction and the ram or the quill fitted to the outer peripheral surface thereof, one or more metal reinforcing materials having resonance points different from that of a body material are additionally provided in the outer peripheral surface extending axial direction in the rotary shaft or/and the ram or the quill.
