<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of easily achieving focus at a proper position by a user when enlarging an exit pupil by providing a pupil expansion element on an optical path of image light. <P>SOLUTION: A head-mounted display includes a laser group, a driving signal control unit, a vertical scan system, a horizontal scan system, an emission unit, a diffraction grating 60, focus targets 70, and an illumination unit. The laser group outputs light including image light for displaying an image. The driving signal control unit controls the output of the light by the laser group. The vertical scan system and the horizontal scan system two-dimensionally scan the light output from the laser group. The emission unit emits the light two-dimensionally scanned to an eye of a user. The diffraction grating 60 being a pupil expansion element is provided in the vicinity of an intermediate image surface and expands an exit pupil. The focus targets 70 are marks formed in an ineffective scan region 64 of the diffraction grating 60. The illumination unit illuminates the focus targets 70. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
