The body has a flange (1) that interconnects two metal sheet components (2, 3) and a reinforcing plate (4), where the reinforcing plate is arranged between the metal sheet components. The reinforcing plate includes multiple projections (5) corresponding to one metal sheet component in a longitudinal direction (L) of the flange, so that the metal sheet component rests against the projections of the reinforcing plate. The flange receives a plug-on seal. The metal sheet components and the reinforcing plate are spot-welded with one another in the flange. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a motor vehicle body.
