<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic container in which a container body and a locking piece of the container body are integrally formed, but the locking piece is smoothly moved and a lid body is surely opened. <P>SOLUTION: The cosmetic container 1 includes the container body 3 formed of a bottom wall 7 and a peripheral wall 17, and the lid body 5 fitted to the container body 3. The peripheral wall 17 is formed of a rear sidewall 9 connected with the lid body 5, a front sidewall facing the rear sidewall 9, and a right sidewall 13 and a left sidewall 15 connecting the rear sidewall 9 and the front sidewall 11. The container body 3 has a front sidewall 11 integrally provided with a container body side locking piece 35 engaging with a lid side locking piece 31 and holding a closing attitude of the lid body 5. Between the front sidewall 11 and the bottom wall 7, a slit 37 is provided which extends along the front sidewall 11, cuts off the front sidewall 11 from the bottom wall 7.
