<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a currency depositing/dispensing system which is improved in the easiness of the handling of currency and the safety of the management of currency for preventing the storage container of a currency processor from immediately becoming full or empty. <P>SOLUTION: This currency deposing/dispensing system includes: a terminal for accepting the input of the denominations and quantity of currency to be deposited/dispensed; and a currency processor and a currency management device communicatively connected to the terminal for storing currency. The terminal is configured to transmit the information of surplus currency which is equivalent to a surplus calculated by dividing the quantity of currency to be deposited/dispensed by the prescribed number of units to the currency processor, and to transmit the information of the divisible number of currency calculated by excluding the surplus currency from the currency to be deposited/dispensed to the currency management device. The currency processor is configured to receive the information from the terminal, and to store or throw the surplus currency.
