<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for a vehicle which suppresses contact avoidance processing that causes a driver to feel a sense of incompatibility or trouble, from being performed by erroneous detection of an on-road object. <P>SOLUTION: A control apparatus for a vehicle is provided which includes a contact avoidance control section 17 which executes contact avoidance processing for avoiding contact between an object which is recognized by an object recognition section 11 and a vehicle 1 when a distance between the object and the vehicle 1 becomes less than or equal to a determination distance Dth. The control apparatus further comprises a preceding vehicle track recognition section 13 which recognizes a passing trajectory 60 of a preceding vehicle 2 to the vehicle 1, an object position determination section 14 which determines whether a pylon 4 recognized by the object recognition section 11 is on the passing trajectory 60, and a determination distance setting section 15 which sets the determination distance Dth in the case where the pylon 4 is on the passing trajectory 60 shorter than a determination distance in the case where the pylon is not on the passing trajectory 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
