<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated warehouse capable of preventing an excessive load from being imposed on a rack unit and a rail unit, and reducing cost. <P>SOLUTION: This automated warehouse 1 includes a rack unit 2 for storing storage objects, a rail unit 3 installed on a ceiling of the rack unit 2, and a carriage 4 running on the rail unit 3 to carry in and taking out the storage object R. In the automated warehouse, the rail unit 3 includes first rails 3a, second rails 3b extending in a direction orthogonal to the first rails 3a, and turn rails 3d turnably arranged at parts where the first rails 3a intersect the second rails 3b; and the carriage 4 includes four wheels arranged at positions corresponding to the four adjacent turn rails 3d to form apexes of a quadrangle and rolling on the rail unit 3, and a traveling control device for changing over a traveling direction by turning the wheels at 90°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
