<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of improving the appearance of a main subject to which spotlight is emitted in photographing of a spotlight scene. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus determines, on the basis of an image signal obtained by imaging means, whether or not a scene is a spotlight scene to which spotlight is emitted to a main subject; when the scene is determined as the spotlight scene, measures brightness of a spotlight area on the basis of the image signal only of the spotlight area to which the spotlight is emitted; and performs exposure control on the basis of the brightness of the spotlight area (step 14). Thus, a brightness portion in the spotlight area is prevented from halation. In the case that the scene is determined as the spotlight scene, signal processing specialized in the spotlight scene is performed in order to improve the appearance of the spotlighted main subject (step S22). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
