<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine which obtains adequate cooling effect and improves performance with simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: Multiple ribs 20 are provided on an outer peripheral surface of a rotor 13 so that fluid flow occurs between the rotor 13 and a stator 12 in conjunction with rotations of the rotor 13.
