<p>Provided is a strip detector, which prevents a leak current from flowing in, reduces background, and has improved linearity, even if the strip detector is configured of a compound semiconductor, such as GaAs and CdTe, and which can use easily obtained and low-cost readout chips without any change. A strip detector (100) that can measure the positions of charged particles or radiation is provided with: a detecting unit (110), which has, as a main body, a semiconductor substrate that is configured of a CdTe semiconductor or a GaAs semiconductor, and reads out radiation detection signals by means of a plurality of DC-coupled readout channels; and an AC-coupled unit (120), which has a plurality of capacitor elements respectively connected to the readout channels of the detecting unit (110). Even if the strip detector is thus configured of the compound semiconductor, such as GaAs and CdTe, readout can be performed by means of AC coupling, a leak current is prevented from flowing in, background is reduced and linearity is improved.</p> |
