<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor in which a yoke contains a gap, with a reduced loss, with no increase in size. <P>SOLUTION: A reactor 1 includes a loop-like yoke 2 provided with a first magnetic leg 2a and a second magnetic leg 2b containing a gap respectively, and a first coil 4 and a second coil 5 of multilayer winding which are arranged to enclose the first magnetic leg 2a or the second magnetic leg 2b respectively. A first layer winding of the first coil 4 and a second layer winding of the second coil 5 are connected in series for inter-coil connection. A second layer winding of the first coil 4 and a first layer winding of the second coil 5 are connected in series for inter-coil connection. An end part on such side as no inter-coil connection is made, at the first layer and second layer windings of the first coil 4, is subjected to interlayer connection, which acts as a connection part to an external electric circuit.
