<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "a navigation device with a destination setting support function for electric vehicles" capable of determining whether an electric vehicle, that can travel by electric power of batteries mounted on the vehicle, will be able to travel from its destination to a charging stand after arriving at the destination when the destination is set, and in the case when the device determines the vehicle cannot reach to any stand from the destination, capable of warning that the destination is not appropriate. <P>SOLUTION: A navigation device with a destination setting support function for electric vehicles calculates a guidance route from a current position to a destination, and in the case when it calculates the guidance route which needs charging at a charging stand on the way to the destination, the navigation device detects the nearest stand from the destination, and also calculates total distance L2+L3, where L2 is the distance from the last charging stand at which an electric vehicle charges lastly before the destination or the current position to the destination and L3 is the distance from the destination to the nearest stand from the destination. If the total distance is larger than L1 that is the travelable distance of the electric vehicle at full charge (L1<L2+L3), the navigation device outputs the alarm of an inappropriate destination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
