<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately prevent a problem in a grease seal or an oil seal caused by a drop of pressure in an inner space because of a pumping action of the oil seal. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine includes: an outer race member 12 connected to a crankshaft 2; and a ring gear 16 connected to an output shaft of a starting motor. A counter space S1 between an inner circumferential surface of an outer ring 14 and an outer circumferential surface of an inner race 18 is equipped with a claw 32 which can be engaged with the outer circumferential surface and the inner circumferential surface, and a grease seal 34 which prevents grease from flowing out. A counter space S2 between an inner circumferential surface of a retainer 10 which rotatably supports the inner race 18 and an outer circumferential surface of the crankshaft 2 is equipped with an oil seal 24 which prevents oil from flowing from an engine body side toward an inner counter space S2 side. In the outer race member 12, a communication hole 13 is formed which makes the spaces S1, S2, an inner space including a central space S3 positioned between the spaces S1, S2, and an outer space S4 under atmospheric pressure communicate with one another. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
