The system has a check valve (63) operable in a locking operation and comprising a check valve body held on a check valve seat in an operating position. The valve body is automatically lifted from the valve seat for compressed air flow from a flow chamber to a blocking chamber in another operating position. The valve is formed as an unlockable check valve that is operated in an unlocking operation in which the valve body is liftable from the valve seat for compressed air flow from the blocking chamber to the flow chamber. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a compressed air supply system comprising an air dryer system (2) a method for operating a pneumatic unit of a vehicle.
