<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor that has a reduced weight and a reduced number of components. <P>SOLUTION: A reactor 100 includes a coil 110 and an annular core 120. The core 120 has a pair of intermediate cores 121 inserted in the coil 110 (coil elements 111, 112) and a pair of end core pieces 122 coupling ends of the pair of intermediate cores 121 juxtaposed, and the pair of intermediate cores 121 (main core sections) and the pair of end core pieces 122 (coupling core sections) combine annularly. The intermediate cores 121 each comprise a plurality of intermediate core pieces 123 and are each a member in which the intermediate core pieces 123 are arranged alternately with gap members 124. The intermediate core pieces 123 each have an insulating coating layer covering all the peripheral surfaces.
