The method involves storing estimated digitized route information as additional route information in frames of storage (15) in a storage medium (11) of a navigation system (10). Verification is made whether the storage of the additional route information is performed using a query (14), by the navigation system. The storage is coupled with an output unit (13) through which the query is optically or acoustically outputted. The storage of the additional route information is performed after reaching a destination. An independent claim is also included for a navigation system for detecting and storing additional digitized route information.
