The jaw has a flange body (4) directly or indirectly arranged on a jaw chuck of machine tools e.g. lathes. A clamping part (6) is arranged on the flange body, and contact lines of clamping bodies (8, 10) are reversibly moved relative to each other after abutment against a clamping surface (U) of workpieces (W) during a feed motion of the clamping bodies in a direction of the clamping surfaces. An abutment part (30) is provided in a region between the clamping bodies, and includes a bearing surface in a direction of the clamping surfaces, where the bearing surface defines one of the lines. |
