A valve-type sealing device, for draining liquid from spaces in a motor vehicle, comprises a resilient base part 31, formed with one or two slits 33 to form a valve 32 which overlies a drain aperture. The base part is attached to the member containing the aperture either by studs 35, which are pushed through holes on either side of the aperture, or by screws. A shield 34, formed integrally with the base part, has a side opening to form an outlet for the liquid and prevents dust entering the valve. The valve part 32 is preferably thinner than the remainder of the base part which may have a metal reinforcement moulded within it and the shield.</p> |
